When running a daycare there are many big cost items that aren't a necessity but will definitely make your life easier. Here are five big cost items that I would recommend to daycare providers who have extra funds in the bank.
Nugget Couch
I cannot recommend the nugget play couches enough. My daycare kids have had endless hours of imaginative and gross motor play with our nugget couch. We use it for fort building, reading on, climbing, and so much more! This is something my kids spend so much time using that I would even consider getting another one so that we can do bigger and more complex nugget builds to play on.
Glowforge Laser Printer
I LOVE my Glowforge. I have the Glowforge plus and it's easily one of my most used pieces of equipment. It's definitely a splurge, but if you can get it, DO IT! With the Glowforge you will easily be able to create lacing boards, dry erase tracing boards, puzzles, wooden shapes and pieces to paint and color, signs, stencils, games, and seriously so much more! It's able to engrave, cut, and score wood, acrylic, some metals, vinyl, veneer, and many other materials. The Glowforge can even be used with food! With this piece of equipment, you will easily be able to make custom materials for all of your units.
Eyevac Touchless Vacuum
The EyeVac Touchless Vacuum makes cleaning a breeze. As daycare providers it can be a pain bending down so often everyday sweeping dust and food crumbs into your dustpan. The EyeVac completely eliminates this issue. Just sweep everything into a pile in front of the EyeVac and the sensor on the front will pick up your movement and automatically turn the vacuum on. With high powered suction you can guarantee that everything you sweep in front of this vacuum will be picked up.
Light Up Sensory Table
The price of a light up sensory table will vary depending on size and brand. The one I currently have in my daycare was $360.00 and was ordered off Etsy (Light Table & Sensory Table 2 in 1 - Etsy -currently sold out). You can also find them on Kaplanco.com, Amazon.com, Walmart.com, and other sites. I would recommend one with a deep bucket, lights that can come in and out of the table, and a lid. This way you can put things like paint, shaving cream, and translucent toys on the lid with the lights inside the bucket or take the lid off and the lights out, and create a sensory bin for the children to play in.

Projector and Screen
My final recommendation to splurge on is a projector and indoor/outdoor screen. Having a projector and screen to use in my daycare has been so much fun! We use ours for everything from educational and interactive games to family movie nights.
